How To Shop For A Wedding Dress

To make your visit to White Traditions Bridal House great, here are some helpful tips. We want your wedding dress shopping to be perfect and unforgettable. If you need any help, just ask!

do i need a bridal appointment?

Yes! White Traditions Bridal House is an appointment-only boutique. This ensures you get the full attention of a dedicated stylist during your visit. Walk-ins are welcome to browse, but trying on gowns requires an appointment. Book online or call us at 636-939-6005.

how far in advance should I shop for my wedding dress?

When should I order my dress? You can never order your wedding dress too early, just a bit too late!

We recommend shopping for your wedding dress at least 9–12 months before your wedding date. Most designer gowns take 4–6 months to order and produce, and you'll want another 2–4 months for alterations. If your timeline is shorter, ask us about our off-the-rack options or visit The Attic at our sister store, Cleo Bridal in O'Fallon.

how long do bridal appointments last?

Your bridal appointment will be scheduled for an hour and a half, so be prepared to try on some bridal gowns! It is sometimes helpful to have somewhat of an idea of what style bridal gown you are looking for. Please try to arrive on time for your appointment. We likely have brides before and after you, and we want to give everyone the appropriate amount of time and attention.

You might also want to bring any undergarments you plan on wearing for your wedding day. Please be mindful that for sanitary reasons, bottom undergarments are required.

how many people can I bring to my appointment?

We recommend bringing 2–3 of your closest people — those whose opinions matter most to you. Larger groups can sometimes make the decision more overwhelming! Our boutique space is intimate, and we want your experience to feel personal and special.

what is the price range for wedding dresses at White Traditions?

Our wedding gowns range from approximately $1,700 to $3,000+, depending on the designer and style. We sell all gowns at the lowest price allowed by our designers — you'll never find a lower authorized price elsewhere. We're happy to work within your budget and show you beautiful options at every price point.

Our sister store Cleo Bridal offers wedding gowns at a slightly lower price range, so be sure to check them out.

how do i order my wedding dress?

You found the perfect gown — now to order. We'll measure you in-store and order the dress to those measurements. Most gowns still need alterations when they arrive; those are not included in the dress price.

A 50% deposit is due when you order and the remaining 50% when the dress arrives. We accept Visa, MasterCard, Discover, American Express, and cash.

All bridal gowns are special order and cannot be returned, so please be certain before buying.

Delivery takes a few months. Use that time to choose shoes, veils, and other accessories. We will contact you when your gown arrives.

what sizes do you carry in store?

Our sample gowns range from size 6 to size 28. We have a dedicated plus-size collection and stock a wide range of samples so that brides of all sizes can truly try on gowns during their appointment.

do you offer alterations?

We work with trusted alterations partners who specialize in bridal gowns. We'll connect you with the right alteration specialist after your gown arrives.

Both stores are owned by the same family, but they have distinct personalities and price points. Cleo Bridal in O'Fallon has a French country farmhouse vibe at a slightly more affordable price point $1700 average.
